In the past, we have had a basic text-to-speech function with a less impressive output.
(It sounded like someone from the Fargo movie on pills…).
Now, we have made a new function: Text to Speech (Gemini)
With this, you can use Google Gemini to generate the speech.
We developed this for our new Tourist system, allowing an AI guide to tell tourists about the place or object. Since the Tourist System is 100% Blippa based, we have the automatic translations (using Google) built in. And with the new speech function, the same guide will tell you everything about the place in all supported languages (like German or Japanese).
The first read takes a bit of time, but it will automatically be cached, so the second read comes much faster.
You can, of course, use the variables instead of text as the input.
Listen to a sample here (promted to sound like a Scottish bartender).
Note: You need to add your own Gemini key in Labelsadmin-Integrations-Gemini
Generate it at https://aistudio.google.com
