How to generate notifications if something goes wrong

Usecase:
The Blippa system is used for providing a pay-and-use solution for a high-pressure washer (and harbour toilets).
The unlock of the toilets door locks are made using Shelly relays.
A similar relay is used for on/off of the 230V for the high-pressure washer.
However, the electric circuit breaker for the pressure washer has a tendency to shut off.

And nobody gets notified…

So, since the Shelly relay is on the same circuit as the washer, the Shelly relay goes offline.

The complicated way to check would involve some special coding along with Blippa (software) workers doing regular checks.

To easy way:

  • Create a Form.
  • Set the form to “Autosubmit”’
  • Set a Send to to the admin email.
  • In the confirmation text, add something like “Device is offline, admin has been notified”
  • Set the form to " Do not wait for SendTo’s to finish (This makes the confirmation text appear instantly instead of waiting for he email sending to be complete.
  • Make the form to show inline.
  • Save the form.
  • Make a rule that triggers on the error, in this case we trigger on the Shelly device online status is false. (This will make this form to popup if there is a problem with the Shelly relay, automatically submit the form, resulting in the email to the admin being sent).
