When moving to GS1 Digital Link standardized QR codes, one of the most complicated task is how to produce the needed label files for the factories.
Basically, there are two major approaches:
- Either the factory can produce the images needed for the labels themself (using software like Bartender or NiceLabel (now Loftware Cloud). The needed input is normally CSV or Excel files.
- The factory needs PDF files with ready-made labels.
In order to facilitate both approaches, we have developed a new function called GS1 Links.
With this function, it is possible to create a customized label generation for the company that is ordering the products. The users either upload Excel files or use Google Sheets.
The generated GS1 links can be saved to a Blippa database to allow for a better control of genuine product links and their activation.
Also, serialization can automatically be applied along with other GS1 attributes (Batch, CPV etc etc).
