Automatic Object Reports!

A Blippa customer wanted automatic installation reports to their partner every month.
(In this case, every installation generates a Blippa object with variables.)

To solve this, we enhanced the Worker process in Blippa:
Now, you can create an Excel file and upload it as a template in Labelsadmin-Settings-Workers.
The file needs to have one sheet with one row of named columns. (=The “datasheet”)
These will map the Blippa variables to define what data shall be inserted in the report files.

You can specify when the reports shall be generated, what categories to include, email recipients, etc:


  • Make sure to select the “Autofit column widths” to make the Excel files look better.
  • You can create other sheets in the template Excel file to present charts, etc., that get their data from the datasheet.
  • To make the email less likely to end up in the recipient’s spam folder, you can use an Office 365 mailbox belonging to your company.
  • Using the Blippa API, you can initiate the reports from external systems.

In the future, we plan to add Google Sheets as an alternative to Microsoft Excel. Please let us know in the comments if you have a need for this.
